Clementine Neild
Biography and contact information
Clementine (UK, b.1985) is a printmaker from Cornwall who explores a fascination with the daydreamed stories and worlds we create when reaching for lost events or loved ones. Her work captures moments in time that pertain to stories, legends and memories and utilises places and objects that hold particular importance to her. Clementine aims to create images that connect her to her audience through shared human experience. Clementine graduated with distinction in MA Authorial Practice: Illustration from Falmouth University in 2019.
Clementine’s work explores a fascination with the daydreamed worlds we create in longing for events, loved ones and memories that can never happen or perhaps never did. She is known for her fascination and adaptation of Japanese contemporary printmaking and works across all areas of print, although preferring intaglio as a main medium. She also makes prints of dogs.
"The multiple nature of the print medium is its strongest quality, not its weakest... if you look closely enough each print is slightly different... Within that eternal repetition, one day we are born, another day we are gone. The world and myself. All I want to do with my work is to grasp for a second the world's tail."
